How BTC to USD conversion works
Converting BTC to USD means calculating what an amount of Bitcoin is worth at the current dollar rate. You can convert a whole bitcoin, a fraction of one, or even an amount measured in satoshis.

These ratios never change; only the dollar value moves. "100k sats" and "1 mBTC" are both 0.001 BTC.
How the conversion is calculated
BTC amount × current BTC/USD rate = USD value
USD amount ÷ current BTC/USD rate = BTC amount
The rate is a live market rate, so the same amount converts to a slightly different figure from one minute to the next. That is the market moving, not an error.
Converting is not selling
Using the converter only calculates a value. It does not execute a transaction or sell Bitcoin. To turn BTC into a supported payout currency, see sell Bitcoin.
