HOW TO SWAP CRYPTO WITH BITCOIN.COM
You can swap inside the Bitcoin.com Wallet app, or connect a self-custodial wallet to Verse DEX. Either way you keep your own keys, and the flow is broadly the same.
Choose what you want to swap
Select the asset you already hold and the asset you want to receive, then enter an amount.
Check the quote
Review the rate, the amount you should receive, the network fee and, where it applies, slippage.
Confirm in your wallet
Approve the swap from your own wallet. In the Wallet app that means tapping Get quote, then sliding to confirm.
Receive the new asset
Check that the destination wallet and network are the ones you expect. Timing depends on the assets and on how busy the network is.

Verse DEX swaps need no Bitcoin.com exchange account: you connect a wallet instead. OrangeRock also has no account sign-up. Buying or selling for fiat goes through third-party providers, which may require verification. Requirements vary by region.

What does a crypto swap cost?

How long does a crypto swap take?
It depends on the assets and network conditions. Same-network token swaps can settle in around a minute; swaps involving Bitcoin wait for block confirmations. These are estimates, not guarantees.
Can I swap BTC to ETH?
Yes, in the Bitcoin.com Wallet app. Bitcoin itself cannot trade directly on most decentralized exchanges, so a DEX route uses a wrapped version such as WBTC.
What is the difference between swapping and selling crypto?
Swapping exchanges one crypto for another and stays on-chain. Selling exchanges crypto for fiat such as dollars, which uses banking or card rails and a payment provider.
What is the difference between a CEX and a DEX?
A centralized exchange holds your funds, needs an account and verification, and matches trades on an order book. A decentralized exchange has no account: you connect your own wallet and keep your keys.

Account: usually required on a CEX; a wallet connection on a DEX.
Identity checks:KYC is common on centralized platforms, and not normally part of the DEX flow itself.

How to trade Bitcoin: market order or limit order?
Order-book trading works differently from a crypto swap. Instead of accepting a swap quote, you place an order that is matched with other traders' orders. The first decision is usually whether to use a market order or a limit order.

Use when: you want the trade to execute now.
How it works: the order matches against the best prices currently available.
Trade-off: execution is more certain, but the final price can move while the order fills.
Illustrative example only: say BTC is trading around $100,000. You place a market buy for $500. The exchange fills it using the best sell orders currently available, which may be slightly above or below the displayed price.
Price control
LIMIT ORDER
Use when: the price matters more than immediate execution.
How it works: you choose the maximum price you will pay to buy, or the minimum price you will accept to sell.
Trade-off: you control the price, but the order may never fill.
Illustrative example only: say BTC is trading around $100,000. You place a limit buy at $95,000. Nothing happens unless the market reaches your price and enough liquidity is available.

A crypto exchange lets buyers and sellers exchange one asset for another. The mechanics depend on the type of exchange you use. The biggest difference is who controls your crypto while the trade happens, and that one distinction shapes the account you need, the checks you go through and how a trade is matched.
